Paul Bettany is back as Vision in the first full trailer for Marvel Television’s “VisionQuest,” the upcoming Disney+ series that continues the story established in “WandaVision.” The trailer, which was revealed following its debut at Disney’s D23 event, centers on White Vision as he attempts to understand his identity and reconcile the memories of the original Vision.

The footage picks up from the conclusion of “WandaVision,” in which S.W.O.R.D. rebuilt Vision’s body and restored the original Vision’s memories to the new white-colored android. The trailer depicts him questioning what those memories mean and whether they make him the same person. At one point, he declares, “I was an Avenger, but I’m not a hero anymore,” underscoring the character’s struggle with his past and purpose.

Much of the story appears to unfold within Vision’s mind, represented by a sprawling mansion populated by different artificial-intelligence programs. James D’Arcy returns as J.A.R.V.I.S., while Orla Brady plays F.R.I.D.A.Y. The trailer also features D.U.M.-E, U and E.D.I.T.H., expanding the series’ exploration of the artificial intelligences connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

James Spader also returns as Ultron, the artificial intelligence who created Vision, with the character appearing in human form. The trailer further introduces Ruaridh Mollica as Thomas Shepherd, a character strongly connected to Vision and Wanda Maximoff’s son Tommy. That storyline follows developments from “Agatha All Along,” which established that Tommy’s brother, Billy, had been reincarnated as Billy Kaplan.

“VisionQuest” is directed by the story of White Vision’s effort to reclaim his identity and humanity, with “Star Trek: Picard” veteran Terry Matalas serving as showrunner. The series is positioned as the third and concluding chapter of the television storyline that began with “WandaVision” and continued with “Agatha All Along,” bringing Vision back to the center of Marvel’s supernatural and technological corner of the MCU.

The eight-episode series is scheduled to premiere Oct. 14; see the trailer: HERE.
