Mariah Carey’s “Loverboy Remix” music video has received a 4K restoration as the singer celebrates the 25th anniversary of her 2001 album Glitter. The newly restored video, featuring Da Brat, Ludacris, Shawnna and Twenty II, brings the early-2000s visual back with enhanced picture quality and previously unseen details.

Directed by David LaChapelle, the video for Loverboy was originally filmed at LA County Raceway in May 2001. The restoration was created using the original 35mm film elements, which were scanned frame by frame in 4K before being reassembled to match the original edit. The process also included updated color grading while preserving the video’s original performances and pacing.

The ‘Loveryboy Remix’ release is part of a broader 25th anniversary celebration for Glitter, Carey’s eighth studio album and the soundtrack to the film of the same name. The project blends pop, funk, hip-hop and R&B, with tracks including “Never Too Far,” “Lead the Way,” and “Don’t Stop (Funkin’ 4 Jamaica).” Although the album faced a difficult reception upon its original release, renewed fan interest helped propel it to No. 1 on the iTunes albums chart in 2018 through the #JusticeForGlitter campaign.

Carey is also set to release an expanded digital deluxe edition of Glitter, which will include 15 additional tracks and new collaborations with Rochelle Jordan and Channel Tres. Anniversary vinyl editions are planned as well, including a limited-edition glittering pink double-LP featuring three bonus tracks, a midnight purple double-LP, and a CD – all set to arrive Oct. 30.
