Emmy-winning actress Katherine LaNasa is expanding her TV lineup with a new role in Hulu’s upcoming limited series Count My Lies. The The Pitt standout has been cast as Tracy, the mother of Sloane Caraway, played by Shailene Woodley. LaNasa will appear in a recurring capacity, and her new role won’t interfere with her work on The Pitt, whose second season has already wrapped production.
Based on the debut novel by Sophie Stava, the series centers on Sloane, a compulsive liar who manages to secure a nanny job with the seemingly perfect couple Violet and Jay Lockhart, portrayed by Lindsay Lohan and Kit Harington. As the official description puts it, she “fibs her way into a nanny position for the gorgeous and charismatic Violet and Jay Lockhart,” but quickly discovers she’s stepped into a volatile environment where long-buried secrets threaten to surface, with potentially devastating consequences.
The television adaptation comes from ‘This Is Us’ collaborators Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, who serve as writers, showrunners, and executive producers.
LaNasa is currently earning widespread acclaim for her performance as charge nurse Dana Evans on The Pitt, a role that brought her an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Her recent television work also includes appearances in Truth Be Told and Daredevil: Born Again.
