Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean has partnered with Ty Dolla $ign for a new collaborative single titled “Flowers,” marking a fresh collaboration that blends pop and R&B influences.
Released via Johnny Wright Entertainment, the single was produced by Rob Grimaldi. The track’s songwriting credits feature a collaborative lineup including McLean, Ty Griffin Jr. (Ty Dolla $ign), Grimaldi, Ben Samama, and Nikki Flores.
The track serves as a centerpiece for McLean’s latest solo era, featured on his full-length studio album my name is Alexander James. Musically, the song pairs McLean’s distinct, gritty vocal tones and melodic runs with Ty Dolla $ign’s signature smooth delivery. The thematic focus of “Flowers” is centered on themes of growth, accountability and emotional reflection following a relationship’s end. Additionally, it serves to honor and uplift women, dedicated to appreciation and giving them the respect they deserve.
