20th Century Studios has shared the latest trailer for The Dog Stars, a new survival drama directed by Ridley Scott and starring Jacob Elordi in the lead role. The film features a strong supporting cast including Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, Josh Brolin, Allison Janney and Benedict Wong. A previous teaser for the film was shared back in April.
Adapted from Peter Heller’s novel, the film unfolds in a world devastated by a deadly flu pandemic. Elordi plays Hig, a pilot trying to endure the harsh new reality alongside his loyal dog. Living in isolation with a hardened survivalist named Bangley (Brolin), Hig maintains a fragile routine—until a mysterious radio signal pushes him to risk everything in search of connection and hope.
The Dog Stars is written by Mark L. Smith and produced by Scott, Michael Pruss and Cliff Roberts. Paul Mescal was originally set to star in the project, but exited due to scheduling conflicts with Sam Mendes’ upcoming Beatles film series. Elordi ultimately stepped into the lead role.
