Dove Cameron has released her new single “Do the Math” which serves as the latest preview of her long-awaited debut studio album, “Final Girl,” arriving Nov. 6. The 11-track project will mark Cameron’s first full-length studio release, following her 2023 EP “Alchemical: Volume 1,” and also features the previously-released track “When in Rome.”
‘Do The Math‘ puts Cameron’s vocals at the forefront of an emotionally charged account of relationship turmoil, with lyrics that challenge a former partner’s tendency to blame others rather than acknowledge their own mistakes. Cameron co-wrote the track with Evan Blair, Mark Schick and Tyler Spry, while Schick and Spry handled production. The song uses mathematical language to make its central point: If someone repeatedly experiences the same problems in their relationships, they may need to consider their own role in the pattern.
The single’s release was preceded by a series of clues on Cameron’s social media accounts. In the days leading up to the announcement, she shared mathematical puzzles that fans worked through to uncover the release date. The announcement also revealed the album’s artwork, which features Cameron seated against a deep red background and surrounded by several other versions of herself dressed in black.
Cameron has also been preparing to join Sombr’s “You Are the Reason” tour, which kicks-off Nov. 6 and includes a series of North American dates, among them two shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
