Prime Video is moving forward with a second season of Young Sherlock, its action-comedy drama centered on the early life of the legendary detective. The series stars Hero Fiennes Tiffin in the title role, who is set to return for the next chapter.

A social post from Prime Video reads: “ou ask, they deliver. Young Sherlock Season 2 is officially afoot.” Guy Ritchie, who helmed the opening episodes of Season 1, will once again direct the premiere of Season 2 while continuing as an executive producer. The show was created by Matthew Parkhill, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer. The ensemble cast returning with Fiennes Tiffin includes Dónal Finn, Zine Tseng, Joseph Fiennes, Natascha McElhone, Max Irons, and Colin Firth.

Set against the backdrop of Victorian England and beyond, the series explores the formative experiences that shape the brilliant detective long before his days at Baker Street. The first season introduced a rebellious teenage Sherlock Holmes whose encounter with James Moriarty pulls him into a dangerous murder case. What begins as his first investigation quickly expands into an international conspiracy, culminating in a life-altering confrontation.

Peter Friedlander, head of global television at Amazon MGM Studios, shared: “Young Sherlock has that rare magic — millions of fans around the world aren’t just watching a detective story, they’re falling in love with the origin of an icon. Guy Ritchie and Matthew Parkhill have cracked the code on making Sherlock’s early years feel fresh, dangerous, and utterly addictive, and have introduced a compelling take on James Moriarty that sets the stage for what’s to come. We can’t wait to see where they take him next in Season 2.”
