Shakira continues to add to her record-breaking year as her FIFA World Cup anthem collaboration with Burna Boy, “Dai Dai,” strengthens its position as the biggest global hit by a female artist in 2026. The song has dominated streaming and international charts following its performance during the inaugural FIFA World Cup Final halftime show, cementing its status as one of the defining releases of the year.

Released as the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 song, “Dai Dai” blends Latin pop and Afrobeats while celebrating football and global unity. The multilingual track, which supports the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund through Shakira’s royalties, has topped the Billboard Global 200, Billboard Global Excl. U.S., Apple Music Global and Spotify’s Global chart. According to reports, it spent 17 days at No. 1 on Spotify’s Global ranking, the longest run by a female artist in 2026, while also becoming the first song ever to reach No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Music Videos chart.

The song received another boost after Shakira and Burna Boy performed it during the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final halftime show at MetLife Stadium, a spectacle viewed by an estimated 2 billion people worldwide. Music analytics firm Luminate reported that global streams of “Dai Dai” climbed 24% in the days immediately following the event, with U.S. streams jumping 52%, highlighting the halftime show’s immediate impact on the anthem’s worldwide reach.

“Dai Dai” also continues Shakira’s long association with football’s biggest tournament, following the enduring success of 2010’s “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa).” The latest anthem has fueled renewed interest in her catalog while expanding her presence on international charts, including new milestones in the United Kingdom. Industry observers have credited the collaboration’s blend of Latin and Afrobeats influences, along with its multilingual appeal and World Cup exposure, for helping transform the single into one of 2026’s most dominant worldwide releases.
