Global music stars Shakira and Burna Boy have joined forces for “Dai Dai,” the official anthem for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The upbeat track blends Latin influences with Afrobeats, creating a multilingual celebration of football, culture, and international unity.
‘Dai Dai’ also arrives alongside an official music video, shot in Miami. Directed by Hannah Lux Davis, the visual features appearances from soccer stars including Lionel Messi, Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappé, Rodrigo Hernández (Rodri), Vinícius Júnior, Takefusa Kubo, Santiago Giménez, Erling Haaland, Luis Díaz, Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala, and Christian Pulisic.
The song highlights countries and famous football nations throughout its lyrics, with Shakira name-dropping teams including “Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia” along with “Mexico, Japan, Korea, Netherlands.” The pair alternate verses before coming together for a powerful duet section.
FIFA described “Dai Dai” as a vibrant fusion of the artists’ global sounds and energy, designed to capture the spirit of the tournament while promoting togetherness through music and sport.
The release comes ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico throughout June and July. It also arrives shortly after FIFA confirmed that Shakira, Madonna, and BTS will headline the tournament’s first-ever halftime show during the World Cup Final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium. The performance lineup was curated by Chris Martin.
The halftime event will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aiming to raise $100 million to expand access to education and soccer opportunities for children worldwide.
Shakira previously previewed “Dai Dai” with a teaser filmed at Maracanã Stadium, where she danced on the field while snippets of the song played.
The Colombian superstar is already closely tied to World Cup history thanks to her 2010 anthem “Waka Waka (This Time For Africa),” which remains one of the tournament’s most recognizable songs.
Alongside the World Cup celebrations, Shakira is also preparing to launch her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour: World Cup Edition on June 13 in Inglewood before wrapping up the run on July 25 in Atlantic City.
