Olivia Rodrigo just dropped her third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, which was accompanied by the release of the music video for her new single “Stupid Song.”

Directed by Mitch Ryan, the “Stupid Song” video was filmed in New York City and features dancers from New York City Ballet under choreography by Tiler Peck. Rodrigo said the track was written while she was living in Greenwich Village and that the visual was intended to capture the surreal excitement of falling in love, turning ordinary moments into something magical. The clip shows the singer moving through the city alongside a troupe of ballerinas.

“Stupid Song” arrives after previously released singles “Drop Dead” and “The Cure,” while the album also includes “What’s Wrong With Me?,” a duet with The Cure frontman Robert Smith. Rodrigo previewed the collaboration during a surprise appearance at Primavera Sound in Barcelona. The album was produced with longtime collaborator Daniel Nigro and includes contributions from songwriter Amy Allen.

The release caps months of anticipation for Rodrigo’s latest project, and arrives as the singer continues to expand her global profile following headlining appearances at major festivals and a string of chart successes. You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love is now available through streaming platforms worldwide.
