Madonna and Charli XCX have teamed up for “Danceteria Afterhours,” a new version of Madonna’s “Danceteria” from her latest album, Confessions II. The collaboration features longtime Madonna collaborator Stuart Price handling production, and brings together Madonna’s dance-pop roots with Charli XCX’s contemporary club sound.
Madonna first teased the collaboration on social media, showing the two artists dancing together in a white studio and trading vocals. The new track revisits “Danceteria,” a song named for the influential New York City nightclub associated with Madonna’s early career and the city’s downtown music scene.
“Danceteria Afterhours” marks the latest reworking of material from Confessions II. Madonna previously released “Love Sensation (Afterhours Mix)” with Kylie Minogue, extending the album’s dance-oriented era through new collaborations and remixes.
